Worcester is actually ideal for my career. Having researched different areas of interest, I found that particular region of the UK from say, Gloucester down to Bristol and further is actually a good spot for freelancing and Worcester, according to what my research tells me, is included in that strip of the country. It also helps that I think the city is pretty nice as well!
It also helps that I do have a few close friends in that neck of the woods as well. I met up with one of them at the start of this year and it was during that weekend that my heart was telling me that Worcester was the place to be.
The main reason for my move 70-odd miles down south is, though I love Leicester and will always keep a special place for it reserved in my heart, the time is right for a fresh start in a brand new city. I remember how much I enjoyed the freedom and independence that I had at university, and wanted to experience that again. Hence, I worked hard, saved up some money, and... well, moved!
I have no idea what lies in front of me - I mean, who does?! - but I'm looking at this new chapter with excitement and as an adventure.
As I always tell myself when writing a new novel (or work on an old one), the first step starts with the first chapter.
Worcester, it's nice to meet you!
