Writer's Block. It can be strike at any time and it almost got the better of me this week. After two days of staring blankly at a screen for half an hour at a time, I managed to bounce back and as a result, reached a pivotal scene in Blue Eyes Book 2.
When I was writing Heartbound, two scenes in particular were so emotional, they actually made me cry! I recall writing one of them (which I won't spoil for those of you who haven't read it) on a bus back to university after playing a badminton match in Leicester. It appears that Blue Eyes Book 2 is going to have a similar effect on me.
Without going into too much detail (again, I'm giving nothing away!), I was writing a scene in which two characters have to say goodbye. That's all I'll say at this stage, but because I have been almost living their lives and experiencing what they do, I got caught up in the moment. I don't see it as a bad thing though; in fact, I'd be worried if I didn't get emotional about my work!
I'm curious to know if there are any books that have tugged at your heartstrings and made you well up. Leave your comments below!
