In recent weeks, I have been in full writing flow. Each day I have been flying through my new novel at full speed and it is approaching its climax. However, this week, I feel as though my foot has just lifted of the accelerator.
Not that this is a bad thing; sometimes taking it easier can help the mind and body recover, and given how hectic my schedule has been at university, this is particularly true. This is a lesson I have learnt time and again during my life; for example, I took a break from badminton in order to find my love for the sport again after a difficult period.
I am still averaging around 500 words a day, and I am still well on course for my publication target of this coming autumn. Heartbound is still doing well, hovering around the top 20 in Ghosts, and I am eagerly awaiting my very first royalty cheque as a self-published author.
